This en-suite bathroom in Finchley was in need of some TLC.
The existing plaster had blown and there was no way it could be plastered over safely, we removed all the tiles and plaster off the wall until we were left with a shell. New vapour resistant plasterboards were fixed along with an 18mm WPB ply screwed to the floor ready for tiling. WPB ply must be used as a base before tiling onto a floor boarded floor, this is because WPB ply has been pre treated for damp, moist areas, the ply should be screwed down firmly to avoid any movement which will cause the tiles to loosen and the grout to crack resulting in water seaping into the grout lines damaging the base.
New plumbing and electrics were installed, along with plastered walls, the stud wall was fitted with aqua cement boards, these are water resistant and are perfect for the shower enclosure. The en-suite was tiled floor to ceiling with a few random tiles put in to break up runs.
